1 Now1161 I Paul3972 myself beseech3870 you by the meekness4236 and gentleness1932 of Christ,5547 who3739 in presence4383 am base5011 among1722 you, but being absent548 am bold2292 toward1519 you:

2 Ich2292 bitte1189 aber1161, daß5613 mir nicht3361 not sei, gegenwärtig3918 türstig zu1909 handeln und der Kühnheit4006 zu2596 brauchen, die3739 man mir zumisset, gegen etliche5100, die3588 uns2248 schätzen3049, als wandelten4043 wir fleischlicherweise4561.

2 But I beseech1189 you, that I may not be bold2292 when I am present3918 with that confidence,4006 with which3739 I think3049 to be bold5111 against1909 some,5100 which3588 think3049 of us as if we walked4043 according2596 to the flesh.4561

4 (For the weapons3696 of our warfare4752 are not carnal,4559 but mighty1415 through God2316 to the pulling2506 down2506 of strong3794 holds;3794)

5 Casting2507 down2506 imaginations,3053 and every3956 high5313 thing5313 that exalts1869 itself against2596 the knowledge1108 of God,2316 and bringing163 into captivity163 every3956 thought3540 to the obedience5218 of Christ;5547

6 und2532 sind bereit2092, zu1722 rächen1556 allen3956 Ungehorsam3876, wenn3752 euer5216 Gehorsam5218 erfüllet4137 ist2192.

6 And having2192 in a readiness2092 to revenge1556 all3956 disobedience,3876 when3752 your5216 obedience5218 is fulfilled.4137

7 Richtet ihr991 nach2596 dem575 Ansehen4383? Verläßt sich1438 jemand1536 darauf3982, daß1438 er846 Christo5547 angehöre, der denke3049 solches, auch2532 wieder3825 um bei ihm5124, daß3754, gleichwie2531 er Christo5547 angehöret, also3779 gehören wir1511 auch Christo5547 an.

7 Do you look991 on991 things after2596 the outward4383 appearance?4383 If1487 any5100 man trust3982 to himself1438 that he is Christ's,5547 let him of himself1438 think3049 this5124 again,3825 that, as he is Christ's,5547 even2532 so3779 are we Christ's.5547

8 Und2532 so ich auch2532 etwas5100 weiter4055, mich rühmete von4012 unserer Gewalt1849, welche uns2257 der3739 HErr2962 gegeben1325 hat, euch2254 zu1519 bessern3619 und5037 nicht3756 zu1519 verderben2506, wollte ich nicht3756 zuschanden werden153.

8 For though1437 I should boast2744 somewhat5100 more4055 of our authority,1849 which3739 the Lord2962 has given1325 us for edification,3619 and not for your5216 destruction,2506 I should not be ashamed:153

10 Denn3754 die Briefe (sprechen5346, sie) sind1848 schwer926 und2532 stark2478; aber1161 die Gegenwärtigkeit des Leibes4983 ist3303 schwach772 und2532 die Rede3056 verächtlich.

10 For his letters,1992 say5346 they, are weighty926 and powerful;2478 but his bodily4983 presence3952 is weak,770 and his speech3056 contemptible.1848

11 Wer ein solcher5108 ist3049, der denke3049, daß5124 wie3634 wir sind2070 mit Worten3056 in1223 den Briefen1992 im Abwesen, so3754 dürfen wir auch2532 wohl sein mit der Tat2041 gegenwärtig3918.

11 Let such3634 an one think3049 this,5124 that, such5108 as we are in word3056 by letters1992 when we are absent,548 such5108 will we be also2532 in deed2041 when we are present.3918
|

12 Denn1063 wir5100 dürfen uns nicht3756 unter die rechnen1469 oder2228 zählen4793, so2532 sich1438 selbst1438 loben4921; aber dieweil sie846 sich1438 bei1722 sich1438 selbst1438 messen und235 halten3354 allein von sich selbst1438, verstehen4920 sie4920 nichts3756.

12 For we dare5111 not make ourselves1438 of the number,1469 or2228 compare4793 ourselves1438 with some5100 that commend4921 themselves:1438 but they measuring3354 themselves1438 by themselves,1438 and comparing4793 themselves1438 among themselves,1438 are not wise.4920

13 Wir2249 aber1161 rühmen2744 uns2254 nicht3780 über2596 das3739 Ziel280, sondern235 nur nach1519 dem Ziel3358 der Regel2583, damit uns GOtt2316 abgemessen hat3307 das Ziel3358, zu gelangen2185 auch2532 bis891 an euch5216.

13 But we will not boast2744 of things without280 our measure,280 but according2596 to the measure3358 of the rule2583 which3739 God2316 has distributed3307 to us, a measure3358 to reach2185 even2532 to you.

14 Denn1063 wir fahren5239 nicht3756 zu1519 weit, als5613 wären2185 wir nicht3361 gelanget bis891 zu1722 euch1438; denn1063 wir sind5348 ja auch2532 bis zu euch5209 kommen mit dem Evangelium2098 Christi5547.

14 For we stretch5239 not ourselves1438 beyond5239 our measure, as though we reached2185 not to you: for we are come5348 as far891 as to you also2532 in preaching2782 the gospel2098 of Christ:5547

15 Und1161 rühmen2744 uns2257 nicht3756 über2596 das Ziel280 in1722 fremder245 Arbeit2873 und4050 haben2192 Hoffnung1680, wenn nun euer5213 Glaube4102 in1722 euch5216 gewachsen, daß wir unserer Regel2583 nach1519 wollen weiter kommen

15 Not boasting2744 of things without280 our measure,280 that is, of other245 men's labors;2873 but having2192 hope,1680 when your5216 faith4102 is increased,837 that we shall be enlarged3170 by you according2596 to our rule2583 abundantly,1519

16 und das Evangelium auch predigen2097 denen, die jenseit1519 euch5216 wohnen, und uns nicht3756 rühmen2744 in1519 dem, was mit1722 fremder245 Regel2583 bereitet2092 ist.

16 To preach2097 the gospel2097 in the regions beyond5238 you, and not to boast2744 in another245 man's245 line2583 of things made2092 ready2092 to our hand.

17 Wer sich aber1161 rühmet2744, der1722 rühme2744 sich des HErrn2962.
|
17 But he that glories,2744 let him glory2744 in the Lord.2962
|
|
18 Denn1063 darum ist2076 einer3739 nicht3756 tüchtig, daß er sich selbst1438 lobet, sondern235 daß ihn der1565 HErr2962 lobet.
|
18 For not he that commends4921 himself1438 is approved,1384 but whom3739 the Lord2962 commends.4921
